10 more weeks to go!!!

Amazing cake made by one of my BFFs, Janelle
Well, it sure has been a while since I posted anything. It's because there really hasn't been much going on up until a week or so ago after Billy and I had our baby shower. Ever since then I've been keeping myself busy finally planning out the details of the nursery. For those who just happen to drop by and read this post, we found out at our shower that we are having a GIRL!!! :). We are pretty excited about it. Billy and I had a hunch it was a girl even though we both like the idea of having a boy first. We aren't saying that we won't love this girl any less, I just like the idea of a big brother looking after his little sister. I am, however, really excited in dressing her up, planning a cute nursery for her, and just sharing all those girly secrets as she grows up :D.

Now that we have the official gender status we've been starting the nesting process of setting up Baby M's room. {we have yet to pick out a name, yet we had one all set for a boy...go figure}. As far as room color and theme goes I'm just going for a calm, classic yet whimsy look with pops of color {aqua, coral, and grey}. So far we have a crib which came in last week and a dresser/changing station. We already had a full size bed and a night stand already in the room. Those will stay. Now we just need to get a rocker-glider, small book case and a 3 drawer/ hamper.

The Glider I would like...
This would look so cute in the room, plus more storage for the changing area.
Until we get those items I've been busy doing some DIY projects for the room. I think I'll do individual posts about those in case anyone might be interested in doing their own DIY projects. So far, I've painted the night stand, spray painted a frame for a mirror, and made a bow board. Future projects are making pom poms, a bird mobile, something with a monogram {still undecided on how to approach this}, and some artwork I can do myself.

I think the hardest part of this has been trying to find the bedding and trying to make Billy happy with the room as well. As far as the bedding goes I'm being a little picky. Maybe I can ask my mom to help me make it, at least the bed skirt and maybe a bumper. Concerning Billy, he's afraid of all the white in the room. We can't really paint the walls since we are renting at the moment and the furniture has been white so far. I keep reassuring him that I'm adding color but in a more detailed manner. He just isn't able to get in my head and see what I envision but it's coming along so far. He has been really helpful in assembling furniture and carrying big items here and there so he's been involved in that way.

Well that's pretty much the short and not so boring part of what's been happening around here. Stay tuned for DIY projects and more updates about the three of us. Until then, good night!
